Life is better at the Lake!

There is so much to do at the Lake of the Ozarks!

We want to share the activities our family has enjoyed and hope that you will fall in love with this area like we have.

We've included ideas for all ages, from younger children to young adults. But the best part is spending time together.

Things to do at the Ledges

When our children were younger, we loved going to the sandy beach by Dock #1. There is a playground, chairs for adults, warm water and lots of sun. And there are plenty of fish, turtles, and ducks along the shore in the cove to spark curiosity.

Our children also love jumping off the docks and floating in the water, even as teenagers. The cell phones stay on the dock so it's a time to talk and connect. We prefer the beach side of dock #1.

Boat and Jet ski Rentals

State Park Marina

Located in the Lake of the Ozarks State Park, they have a wide range of boat rental options to meet your needs and budget from cruising to fishing or just lounging while taking a scenic kayak ride.

Paradise Marina

Near the Bagnell Dam, they offer boats, jet skis and kayaks. They have a real focus on your safety.

Dirty Duck

Near the Grand Glaize Bridge, they have a large selection of boats and jet skis to choose from.

Lake of the Ozark’s State Park

This is Missouri’s biggest state park. The park has over 8 miles of trails along the lakeshore, running through rocky hilltops, past babbling brooks, scenic bluffs, and magnificent Missouri flora.

They also have a sandy beach, picnic area, kayak and pontoon rentals for reasonable rates, and much more.

Rainy Day Activities

We will have the occasional rainy days. The deck normally stays dry so it's a nice spot to talk, play games, and watch for fish. But sometimes that's not enough. These are our go-to activities.

Ozark Caverns

Located in the Lake of the Ozark's State Park, Ozark Caverns is a cave that can only be explored by carrying a lantern since there is no electricity. But the adventure includes "Angel Showers" (a perpetual water shower dripping from the rock high above), a wall of clay with clear bear claw marks a few centuries old, and a wall where visitors have left their signatures since the 1800's.
